This Sunday I decided to reseal a leaky window on the boat since it was nice and sunny out and it wasn't "supposed" to rain. The old sealant was pretty easy to get out. I used a single sided razor blade, which I used to make 2 incisions, one at a perpendicular angle to the glass as close to the metal window rim as I could get. I didn't cut all the way through here, just enough to get the old sealant separated from the metal rim. The next incision I made parallel with the glass to separate the seal from glass, this I made as deep as I could. I then pulled the old sealant and it came right out, no problem.

After I used the razor to scrape all the leftover bits and built up crud off the window and metal lip. Next I used acetone to clean the entire area, both metal lip and glass window. I used a rag (with acetone on it) and stick to push into the space between the glass and lip to get all the dirt out of that area, and there was a bit of dirt to get out. Finally, I used painters tape to line the window so the new sealant would make a nice neat edge. I resealed using BoatLIFE Lifeseal (which you can get here) and a caulking gun, pulled the painters tape off and was done.

My first small project on the boat. I noticed that there was some rust around one of the AC outlets and when I opened it up it looked like the photo below. I guess in 25 years they deteriorated pretty bad. Went to Lowes and replaced the whole setup, got plastic electrical boxes to help somewhat.

I had to change all four outlets on the boat, these are various before and after shots. They all where in a similiar state.
